Valdez, Espejo lead SEA Games pool

Alyssa Valdez can be joining the Philippine women’s countrywide volleyball squad for the eighth time because the Larong Volleyball sa Pilipinas, Inc. Announced the pool for the 2019 SEA Games to be held in the USA this November.

Joining Valdez are team captain Aby Maraño, veterans Aiza Maizo-Pontillas, Mika Reyes, sisters Dindin Santiago-Manabat and Jaja Santiago, Majoy Baron, Denden Lazaro, Dawn Macandili, Jia Morado, Ces Molina, Mylene Paat, and MJ Phillips.

Also inside the pool are first-timers Kath Arado, Tots Carlos, Angel Cayuna, Ced Domingo, Jema Galanza, Eya Laure, Jerrili Malabanan, Kalei Mau, and Alohi Robins-Hardy. From the 22 members of the training pool, 15 can be selected to don the country’s tricolors. Shaq Delos Santos will call the pictures and will be supported through Brian Esquibel and Kung Fu Reyes.

Asian Games

The girls would like to pose a project to eleven-time defending champions Thailand, hoping to improve at the fourth-location finish inside the 2017 Kuala Lumpur video games. The Philippines had remaining received the gold at the 1993 version in Singapore, overcoming the Thais.

Meanwhile, inside the men’s squad, captain Johnvic de Guzman may be headlining the 20-guy pool and join Marck Espejo, Ranran Adbilla, Mark Alfafara, Bryan Bagunas, Kim Dayandante, Joven de la Vega, and Rex Intal.

Also becoming a crew member are Fauzi Ismail, Jack Kalingking, Jessie Lopez, Jeffrey Malabanan, Kim Malabunga, Rikko Marmeto, Ricky Marcos, Ish Polvorosa, Francis Saura, Jayvee Sumagaysay, Peter Torres, and Joshua Amanda.

The squad might be mentored by Dante Alinsunurin and could be helped through Ariel Dela Cruz and Sherwin Meneses. They are seeking to enhance lower back-to-returned 6th-vicinity finishes within the 2015 and 17 editions. Volleyball events will commence on Nov. 28 at a yet-to-be-introduced venue.
